Summary of the Role: 

The Dispensary Assistant General Manager  (AGM) is a key member of the retail leadership team. This position is classified as exempt and reports to the Dispensary General Manager. In partnership with the Dispensary General Manager, the AGM oversees the daily operations including staff training, management, regulatory compliance, cash handling, and daily operations. A successful AGM balances the goal of driving both patient satisfaction and commercial growth while maintaining inventory within a secure & fully compliant facility.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manages daily operations of the dispensary retail store 
  • In the absence of the General Manager, the Assistant General Manager is responsible for the day-to-day functions 
  • Assist in scheduling, ensuring all business needs are met, while maintaining budgetary expectations 
  • Ensures the team is operating with compliant standard operating procedures for dispensing, inventory management, and all sales supported tasks 
  • Tracks and monitors inventory using the state inventory tracking system and business management platforms 
  • Provides world class customer service and oversight of team/patient interaction 
  • Responsible for team training, orienting, and employee relations 
  • Maintains business management platforms and ensures all technology systems operate effectively 
  • Physically audits inventory for accuracy against inventory tracking system and business management platform data at designated intervals (daily, weekly, quarterly, annually)
  • Enforce company policies, procedures, and state regulations 
  • Handles cash in compliance with company policies, including deposits, changes orders etc. 

Qualifications: 

  • 3+ Years Retail management experience required 
  • Experience in the marijuana industry preferred 
  • Demonstrates empathy and a passion for serving patients in need 
  • Is 18 years of age or older 
  • Able to pass a criminal background check 
  • Results driven & a strong verbal communicator 
  • Exhibits basic math skills required 
  • Demonstrate a proficiency for technology (including Microsoft Office & Retail POS systems)

  • Ability to work up to 10 hours a day and rotating shifts
  • Flexible schedule availability including nights, weekends and holidays   
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull 75 pounds   
  • Ability to sit, squat, bend, and kneel repetitively throughout a workday   
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time   
  • Extended computer usage 
  • Comfortable being under constant video surveillance 
  • Work environments that include exposure to, but not limited to fumes, dust, odors, heights, indoor AC, no AC, motion, and noise.
